How many classes and establishments were closed in Haute-Saône for cases of Covid?
As of Thursday 1is April, eight classes were closed and no establishment was completely closed. During the week of March 25 to 1is April, 52 students tested positive, with an average of 8 to 12 students per day. Which led to 139 evictions. 15 teaching staff tested positive, leading to 22 evictions.
Is there an increase in contamination?
There is a slight increase in cases: 31 students tested positive on March 18, 45 on March 25 and 52 this week. We have never had more than 12 cases per day.
Stronger circulation of the virus in schools: “It has not been demonstrated here”
Where are the screening campaigns at school?
Since 1is March, 22 campaigns of saliva tests were carried out in the first degree and 15 campaigns of antigenic tests in the second degree. Overall, 6 positive cases were detected. Among the contact cases in eviction, almost all are negative. These figures do not allow us to confirm, at the departmental level, that there is a stronger circulation of the virus in schools. It is not demonstrated with us.
What instructions have teachers received after the announcement of the closure of schools?
As of this Thursday, we have been working with the inspectors of National Education and the heads of establishments on educational continuity and the reception of children of priority personnel. Teachers can build on what they have already done since we already have schools where teaching is done at a distance. They can also rely on the experience of the first confinement. Distance education will be done through virtual class time or work given to children with contacts by phone and internet, depending on the territory.
“I have great confidence in the teachers”
And for the reception of children of priority personnel?
We contacted the school administrators to identify the establishments concerned. Depending on the sector, we have regrouped or, when that is not possible, provide a welcome in certain schools. This reception is organized with volunteer staff, unassigned replacement staff, AESH and civic services. All schematics are ready to go for Tuesday. And I have great confidence in the teachers.
How many schools will remain open?
So far, we have identified 38 throughout the department. The list will be published on the site of the rectorate and the DSDEN. Unlike the first wave, many more children will be admitted since the list of priority professions has been extended.
What about extracurricular?
For the targeted schools, this is done in conjunction with the communities (town halls, communities of municipalities or school union). Almost everywhere, extracurricular activities are involved.
Pupils in difficulty: “We are very vigilant on this point”
Does the experience of the first confinement play out?
It’s undeniable. We have experience in educational continuity and equipment since the Department lends tablets for college students who are not equipped. The Region does the same for high school. Unlike the first lockdown, we had more time to prepare and we know when the children will return to school. For the first degree, distance education will only take place over three days since we are lucky that our school calendar is not disrupted.
What is in place for children in difficulty?
We are attentive to students with psychological and social difficulties. Those who need psychological and pedagogical support can be taken care of in establishments, over a given period of time, on an ad hoc basis: half a day for example. They have already been identified by school principals. We saw it during the first confinement: the impact was very strong at the level of colleges and high schools. These students will stay four weeks without physical contact with the teachers. We are very vigilant on this point.
