Microsoft has a large catalog of devices within the Surface range, from the small Duo to the great Studio. In between we have a lightweight laptop, ideal for portability, the Surface Laptop. It’s been over a year since we saw the latest model, and rumors about an upcoming Surface Laptop 4 are swift.
Almost a year ago we began to hear about this laptop, and Microsoft has continued to work despite all this. Now, and thanks to Zac Bowden, we know what this device will offer, that unlike Surface Pro 7+, if it will reach consumers.
A new model without many visual changes
The first thing we can know is that will be equal to design level. That is, we will not see any changes in frames, available ports, keyboard, screen or trackpad, so the experience will be similar in this regard.
On the other hand, if we will stop seeing the cobalt blue color, it is that Microsoft has decided that the ice blue (Ice blue) will replace the cobalt that had until now.
Surface Laptop 4 with state-of-the-art Ryzen and Intel
These are all the aesthetic changes that we can expect from this new model, and most of the changes will be internal. From what it seems, from Redmond they will keep the 13.5 and 15-inch models, except that this time both models will have Intel and AMD. Also, both will have Dolby Atmos support, so it will be a higher audio quality.
As with the Surface Pro 7+, Microsoft will introduce the 11th generation of Intel processors in i5 and i7 models. As another option, we will have AMD Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7 which, as in Laptop 3, will be Surface Edition, being modified especially for those of Redmond.
Although the model is known from Intel, it is still not sure if they will be Ryzen from the 4000 or 5000 series, although previous reports indicated that it would be 4000. Regarding storage, we will have up to 1TB of SSD and up to 32 GB of RAM, so in that sense it will be exactly the same as the Pro 7+.
Surface Laptop 4 price and availability
This device should have arrived alongside the Surface Pro 7+, or so was expected. Microsoft’s new plans indicate that Surface Laptop 4 will arrive this spring, more specifically to mid April.
Regarding prices, those that we saw in the Surface Laptop 3 will remain, with a 13.5-inch model starting at $ 999 or € 1149 and $ 1299 or € 1349 for the 15-inch model. In both cases it will be for the model with Ryzen 5.
