Board of Directors of FCL Holding AG reacts to Alpstaeg’s criminal complaint
In a media release, the Board of Directors of FCL Holding AG reacts to Bernhard Alpstaeg’s criminal complaint. Here is the wording:
“The Board of Directors takes note of the step taken today by Bernhard Alpstaeg to file criminal charges against the Board of Directors of FCL Holding AG, but, without knowing the exact wording of this criminal charge, protests against the allegations made by Bernhard Alpstaeg’s communications consultant have been collected by means of a media release and will accordingly not take any further position on it.»
In addition, the Board of Directors of FCL Holding AG notes that Bernhard Alpstaeg’s process of influencing the licensing of the Swiss Football League is unparalleled. The Board of Directors points out that Bernhard Alpstaeg, as a co-owner of FCL Holding AG, is actively opposed to the SFL issuing a license to FC Luzern with this influence and thus endangers the future of the FCL. Bernhard Alpstaeg’s actions prove that he is not interested in the well-being of FC Luzern and is ruthlessly sacrificing it to his own interests. In addition, the Board of Directors of FCL Holding AG confirms that Josef Bieri, as a shareholder of FCL Holding AG, will alone provide the necessary bank guarantees for the licensing for the 2023/24 season. The Board of Directors assures that the necessary care will be taken when submitting the license and that FC Luzern will endeavor to obtain the license in the first instance as usual. This despite the stubborn intervention by fellow shareholder Bernhard Alpstaeg in the Swiss Football League.
Bernhard Alpstaeg, main shareholder of FC Luzern, filed both a criminal complaint and a civil lawsuit against the board of directors of FCL Holding AG. With the civil lawsuit before the district court of Lucerne, Bernhard Alpstaeg is taking action against FCL Holding AG because it surprisingly revoked almost half of his share package and voting rights in December immediately before the general meeting. With the civil lawsuit he wants to reverse the expropriation of 25 percent of his shares. (keg/sda)
