(ANSA) – STOCKHOLM, AUGUST 30 – Tomorrow will be the big day for Princess Martha Louise of Norway, daughter of King Harald V, who will marry the American Durek Verett. The wedding will take place in a picture-postcard landscape, in a fjord, in the hamlet of Geiranger, near Alesund, on the western coast of Norway. It will be a private party and not a classic royal wedding and the local press is not invited. The couple has in fact taken the unusual step of selling the exclusive rights to the images to foreign media: for the photos to the British magazine Hello! and for the videos to Netflix. However, the King and the rest of the royal family refuse to appear in the images, even on the day of the couple’s wedding, underlining the distancing of the King and the rest of the royal family from the couple’s choice. During the day the royals arrived in Alesund and greeted people in the streets, who came to see them. The three-day wedding celebrations have already begun: “It was fantastic. We are so happy,” Princess Märtha Louise was quoted by Norwegian public broadcaster Nrk. (ANSA).
