All set for the Third Book and Reading Festival 2024 in San Antonio

The Municipality of San Antonio, together with the community and cultural representatives of the commune, extended an invitation to enjoy the third version of the Book and Reading Festival 2024.

The event will take place from August 28 to September 1 at the San Antonio Cultural Center, the Vicente Huidobro Public Library and in the commune, with a varied program that promises to be enjoyed by everyone.

Regarding this unmissable event, Mayor Constanza Lizana Sierra pointed out that the goal is to encourage and promote reading, culture and the arts, this year with a special focus on children and young people. “We are extremely pleased, it is a work that has been carried out year after year by the municipal library and above all also with the communities that today together we are organizing this third festival.”

The activities will be diverse. From the play La Remolienda, to the music of Manuel García and Bronko Yotte, the film “El niño y la Garza” and Lambe Lambe theatre, among other presentations.

Specifically, Constanza Vega Neira, head of the Vicente Huidobro Public Library, referred to the festival’s programming. “We will have, for example, the presence of Gonzalo Frías at the film presentation, Manuel Peña, an expert in children’s and youth literature, in addition to workshops with free registration and a spectacular book fair, as well as different artistic interventions,” she said.

For his part, the prominent local writer Roberto Bescós Concha emphasized the importance of promoting reading among the inhabitants and the commitment of the municipality to carry out this task in the territory. “It is a wonderful opportunity and therefore, we find it extraordinary that the leadership of the municipality supports San Antonio to have an event of this type. We consider it an extraordinary opportunity for people to go, especially young people and children.”
