Almost 14 thousand athletes play volleyball in 79 departments. The Russian national team includes 29 Kuban players, noted Deputy Governor Alexander Vlasov.
In the region there is an Olympic reserve sports school for volleyball, as well as for beach sports, where a beach volleyball department is open. The Volleyball Federation of the Krasnodar Territory operates. Every year, at least 20 competitions of various levels are held in the region, as well as mass events within the framework of the Rural Games and the Kuban Workers’ Spartakiad.
– Our athletes perform successfully in both classical and beach volleyball. Not only experienced players, but also youth teams achieve positive results,” noted the region’s Minister of Physical Culture and Sports, Serafim Timchenko.
