All-round specifications upgrade from $6,290 Motor Razr 40 Ultra’s external screen kills rivals in seconds-ePrice.HK

Some foreign media pointed out that the Razr 40 Ultra just released by Motorola seems to be a change of the clamshell folding machine, because whether it is the body design, technology and specification configuration, it is not only greatly improved than the previous generation Moto Razr, but also better than the main competitors in the market. There is a bigger breakthrough. The biggest selling point of Razr 40 Ultra is believed to be the large-size external screen with rich functions.

Thoughtful on the large size external screen

The foldable pOLED inner screen of the Razr 40 Ultra is 6.79 inches, supports 165Hz refresh rate, 1,400nits brightness and HDR 10+. The 3.6-inch pOLED screen on the outside is currently the largest on the market, has two lenses and LED flash openings, and supports a 144Hz refresh rate. The Razr 40 Ultra’s external screen can display information such as message prompts, clock, weather, etc. There are also a large number of Widgets that can be used. Users can even open programs and games on the external screen. When the internal screen is turned on, the work will also be synchronized to the internal screen.

Increased battery capacity supports wireless charging

Motorola chose the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor for the Razr 40 Ultra, offering two configurations of 8GB RAM, 256GB storage or 12GB RAM, 512GB storage, pre-loaded with the Android 13 system, and the factory promises 3-year upgrades. The built-in 3,800mAh battery supports 33W wired fast charging and 5W wireless charging, and the battery capacity is 1,000mAh more than the previous generation. Connectivity capabilities include 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, USB-C and NFC. In terms of cameras, the Selfie lens of the inner screen is 32MP, and the dual lenses on the outside are a 12MP main camera with optical shock resistance and a 13MP ultra-wide-angle/macro lens.

Fully snug when folded

The fuselage has IP52 dustproof and waterproof rating. The thickness when unfolded and folded is 6.99mm and 15.1mm respectively. The fuselage is made of 7000-series aluminum metal with Gorilla Glass Victus and weighs 188g. The fingerprint recognition is located in the power button on the side of the machine. The new hinge structure and the foldable screen have 5 layers of protection. On the one hand, it reduces the creases in the middle of the screen, and at the same time, the screen is completely close when folded without leaving any gaps.

Price starting at $6,290

The Razr 40 Ultra is available in red, blue and black colors. The 8GB + 256GB version is priced at RMB 5,699 (about HK$6,290); the 12GB + 512GB version is priced at RMB 6,399 (about HK$7,064). The European market is the first to be released. It will be launched in Asia in the next few weeks, and will be launched in the US market under the name of Motorola Razr+.
