All restrictions due to Covid-19 to travel to the United Kingdom end

The United Kingdom has eliminated this Friday the last restrictions against Covid-19 that remained in force with which it tried to contain the arrival of travelers from other countries that could be infected with the virus

The British Government has decided that all people who have not received any doses of the different vaccines against the disease should not undergo any coronavirus test to enter the country.

It is the same measure that the Boris Johnson Executive applied on February 11 for people who have been immunized against the virus, but this time people who want to travel, without having received any dose, will be able to do so without presenting a PCR test.

The United Kingdom will also not require travelers arriving in their country to fill out a form that, until now, served to locate passengers during their stay, given the possible risk of testing positive for coronavirus.

The removal of these latest travel measures comes nearly two years after the first lockdowns were put in place to prevent foreigners from spreading the Wuhan-born disease.

According to the latest official figures released by the British Ministry of Health, in the last 24 hours this country identified another 89,717 daily cases of covid-19 and another 138 deaths related to the disease.

“All that we have worked for, the vaccines, the tests and the sacrifices made throughout the country means that finally, almost two years later, we can all travel without bureaucratic restrictions,” said the British Secretary of State for Aviation, Robert Courts.

The Government has scheduled this change to be carried out before the next Easter holidays, in April, although contingency plans have also been planned to respond to any variant that may appear.

The impact of the relaxation of restrictions has been reflected in the tourism market. The CEO of the tourist company Kuoni, Derek Jones, has revealed, in an interview on the BBC, that there has been a rebound in reservations: “People can now go on vacation or visit their family and friends abroad without all the stress of getting tested before they go home.”
