Although the Valledupar Public Services company, Emdupar, has been carrying out different tasks to provide a permanent and quality drinking water service for the consumption of the vallenatos, failures continue to occur in some sectors of the city that generate discomfort in the citizenship, because they are intervened without prior notification, leaving the community without vital liquid.
The situation arose this Wednesday where, as the company announced through a statement, due to an intervention near the Pedazo de Acordeón roundabout, an entire city was left without water service in a surprising manner.

“A large leak occurred around the Pedazo de Acordeón, to solve it, the company was forced to suspend the service in the city, which was restored at the end of the night”, clarifying that “in Valledupar the system operates by gravity, the “The service reaches some sectors first and takes time to compensate for all the neighborhoods.”
This clarification was presented due to the multiple complaints made by citizens who were without the liquid for more than five hours, which arrived at night and, in other sectors, the next day.
The Emdupar company assured that it is coming “improving the failures that occurred in various sectors of the city, such as the intervention in the aqueduct service that was carried out in the southern part of the city, benefiting more than 11,000 users in commune three, equivalent to 55,000 inhabitants, ten percent of the population.”
In this sense, “The installation of more than 900 meters of eight-inch aqueduct pipe was achieved to reinforce the closure of the circuit and benefit the southwestern sector where the airport, Nando Marin, Guayacanes, Primavera, Lorenzo, Morales, La Sabana and Alcalá among others.”
The construction companies that supported were Maya y Asociados, Proyectos e Inversiones, MPL, MS Construcciones and Construvid that will ensure urban projects in the area in the short term due to the important result obtained, according to what the head of Technical Management of the company expressed, Fabian Mendoza.
Pablo Jaramillo, special agent of Emdupar, expressed that: “This work is going to improve the service in the entire southern area of Valledupar, it is going to generate high pressure in this entire large sector and solve a problem that has been going on for many years. We are giving results and we are looking to seek new investments with the support of the Government of Cesar and the Mayor’s Office of Valledupar”.
