On 25 april 2015 we got to see a first picture of it Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club, The Thin Red Line) as the Joker he was going to play in the DC movie Suicide Squad. Despite the fact that this 2016 film turned out to be a financial success, many people were not happy with the fill-in of the well-known Batman villain.
Now director has David Ayer a new photo of Leto as the character revealed. Naturally, Leto was given the difficult task Heath Ledger (The Dark Knight) to match. something that Joaquin Phoenix (Joker) according to many succeeded.
Leto’s Joker not finished yet
Although it seems unlikely that we will see Leto’s Joker again in really new films, his role within the DC Extended Universe is not yet finished. Recently it became clear that Leto is returning for additional recordings for Zack Snyder’s Justice League which should be seen on HBO Max sometime in 2021.
