All medical universities in Germany want Margarita from Svishtov, she chose Heidelberg

The high school graduate from the Arcus College in Tarnovo achieved the highest result at the German exam for doctors

She is also the holder of a national diploma for outstanding achievements

All medical universities in Germany want 19-year-old Margarita Karaivanova from Svishtov as their student. The most successful high school student at the American College – Arcus private high school in Tarnovo achieved a top result in an exhausting 10-hour test in Munich and won the right to choose among the most prestigious German universities.

And not only that – he can study medicine in Austria and Switzerland, where the result of the German entrance exam is recognized.

In the end, the girl chose to study at the oldest university in Germany, the one in Heidelberg, which is also among the most authoritative humanities and medical universities in the world.

“I was accepted everywhere, but Heidelberg was my first wish, so I hoped to be taken there until the end. When that happened, the feeling was amazing. Something for which you have put so much effort, so much work, to be done.

It’s huge

satisfaction
of what has been achieved ”, Margarita is proud.

The high school graduate recently ranked among the 29 winners of the honorary award “National Diploma” of the Ministry of Education and Science.

Margarita explains that the test for all medical specialties in Germany cannot be solved online. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, for the first time this year, 4 dates were announced.
“It was not known whether the exam would be held on the exact date I had chosen – May 8, because there was a very high intensity of the disease.

Until recently, we were not told whether to get plane tickets. Probably a week before the exam, I learned that it would not be postponed, as it was last year, “the girl recalled her worries.

The test itself, in which Margarita scored 1.0 (the highest score in Germany – ba), consists of 9 components. For each of them the candidates have 1 hour, with 1 hour lunch break.

Not only theoretical knowledge in biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, but also the possibility of memorization, spatial orientation, concentration, general culture are tested.

“Endurance

is one of

the most important

quality
in my opinion, and obviously in the opinion of the evaluators. Because the doctor is a person who must be ready to perform 10-hour operations, or even more “, analyzes Margarita.

Even more stressful is that you can take this exam once in a lifetime. Candidate medics have no right to repeat it, no matter what result they have achieved. If they leave the hall during the lunch break, they can come again next year, but if they finish it – that’s it!

“A lot of people can’t stand the pressure, I’ve seen a lot of tears in my eyes. In the end, only the most ambitious and strong-willed remain “, the girl goes back.

Being a doctor is Margarita’s childhood dream. She says she is influenced by her uncle, who is in America.

“Everyone who

has decided to

follows the path

of medicine,

is a man with a cause
He would do anything to achieve this dream of his. And this is exactly what distinguishes people who have achieved higher results – that they have not concentrated only in these last months of training, but throughout the training period have walked the path to the goal, “says Margarita.

She has a covered DAF certificate, which allows her to study in German, including the specialty of medicine. The future doctor speaks excellent English and has covered the Cambridge certificate for level C2.

The talented girl has been appearing in competitions and contests since the elementary school “Nikolay Katranov”. In the 7th grade he qualified for the national rounds of 5 Olympiads, and in history he became a national laureate.

“It was one of my greatest achievements because I really love history. My teacher, Mrs. Galya Ivanova, played a huge role in this success, and she managed to stimulate my interest. It is really important for me that someone catches this spark in you and turns it into fire “, says the excellent student.

The gold medal opens the door to the National High School of Ancient Languages and Cultures, but Margarita chooses the elite college in Tarnovo. The desire to be closer to his mother, who teaches at VTU, prevails.

It qualifies

first in success
in “American College – Arcus” and became a scholarship holder of the school. For 5 years in a row he won the school award “Aneta Karaivanova” for the highest term and annual success. That’s why they call her the golden girl of the American College.

In 2019, the student became a laureate of the National Multilingual Competition. It assesses the ability of participants to make the connection between the first and second foreign language they learn. In last year was also approved for a national scholarship of the Ministry of Education and Science for outstanding gifts.

The latest success he can boast of is from August 12, when at a solemn ceremony in the district administration he received a national diploma for outstanding achievements in the field of education. In addition to a full six in all subjects entered in the diploma, the graduate has six in both matriculation exams – in Bulgarian language and literature and in biology.

“I never studied with the thought that I should be a complete excellent student. I don’t think that can be motivation.

I’m interested

is to discover

unknown secrets
Probably my passion is rooted in my first school. In it, I was taught to believe that only when we respect our history will we not repeat the same mistakes. That’s how I liked the University of Heidelberg, which has an 8-century history, ”smiles Margarita.

There are 13 semesters ahead, and then a specialization. She turned to endocrinology or anesthesiology, but for these 6 and a half years it is possible that interests will change. He also wants to specialize in Germany.

“So that I can be a maximally educated and erudite staff, who will then return to Bulgaria and be able to transfer what they have learned to their homeland,” she explains.

When she feels the need to break away from science and theoretical pursuits, the future doctor sits down at the piano. Her mother is an associate professor of piano and became interested in music from an early age. In his free time he participates in Erasmus projects, travels, gets to know people and their cultures.

He is looking forward to feeling the spirit of the ancient scientists in the auditoriums of Heidelberg. The start is on October 18.

He has high hopes

of attendees

classes,
if the coronavirus situation allows. He perceives the pandemic as something that should have happened and must be overcome.

There is an ancient quote: “Easy times give birth to weak people. Weak people give birth to difficult times. Difficult times give birth to strong people. And the brave and the strong give birth to easy times. ”

I think that we should be the ones who with their ambition and perseverance will lead to easier times “, says the future doctor.
