Disney has done nothing and turned Investor Day into a festival for Marvel and “Star Wars” fans. Disney CEO Bob Chapek has everyone in charge from Lucasfilm (Kathleen Kennedy) and Marvel Studios (Kevin Feige) gathered around to fire one piece of news after the other. The almost four-hour event was garnished by the first trailers and rich background details. Here we summarize the most important details about the MCU films for you.
„Fantastic Four“:
Since buying up the film division of 21st Century Fox, it was only a matter of time before Disney and Marvel Studios would set about producing new “X-Men” and “Fantastic Four” films. Actually, it was assumed that the “X-Men” would be on their way first. But a few more days will have to pass and the audience will forget the flop of “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” and “New Mutants” before you can dare to approach the mutants again.

The last “Fantastic Four” film wasn’t a hit either, but it was five years ago. Reason enough to revive Reed Richards alias Mr. Fantastic, Susan Storm alias Invisible Woman, Johnny Storm alias Human Torch and Ben Grimm alias The Thing. This time Jon Watts, director of the “Spider-Man” films at the MCU, takes on this task.

„Doctor Strange 2: In the Multiverse of Madness“:
Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness, debuts March 25, 2022. Starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, & Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez. Directed by Sam Raimi, the film ties to WandaVision & the next Spider-Man film.
The latest details and rumors about the third “Spider-Man” solo film with Tom Holland had basically already anticipated it: But now it has been officially confirmed that “Doctor Strange 2: In the Multiverse of Madness” directly with “Spider-Man 3” and will even be linked to the Disney + series “WandaVision”. No wonder, all three films are about the multiverse.
In addition, Disney has now revealed the main cast: In addition to Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange and Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch, Benedict Wong, Rachel McAdams and Chiwetel Ejiofor are also returning. Xochitl Gomez will be new as America Chavez.
The expected German theatrical release is March 25, 2021.

After “Black Widow”, which is still on 6. May 2021 should start in German cinemas, MCU fans can look forward to a new superhero: Shang-Chi. In addition to the well-known Simu Liu, Tony Leung Chiu-Wai and Awkwafina, other actors have now been revealed for director Destin Daniel Cretton’s film: Michelle Yeoh, comedian Ronny Chieng, Fala Chen, Meng’er Zhang and Florian Munteanu will also be featured be the party.

So far it was only known that Christian Bale is to be the villain in Chris Hemsworth’s fourth solo adventure. The former Batman actor will be the complete opposite of his DC superhero. Now it is also known who he will play: Gorr the butcher of gods.
The background story of Gorr is a tragic one: he once lived with his family on an inhospitable planet. Every day he prayed to the gods to save him and his family. But nothing happened and in the end he was the only one still alive. Gorr believed there were no gods. But when he found out that there are, he set out to seek revenge.
“Thor: Love and Thunder” starts in this country on February 10, 2022 in theaters.

The Marvel Phase 5 MCU Movies
„Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania“:

„Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania“Will be the name of the third solo film with master thief Scott Lang alias Ant-Man. This film will only be part of Marvel Phase 5 and will therefore probably only be released 2023 in theaters. The return of Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer has now been confirmed. Kathryn Newton will be new as the older Cassie Lang. She replaces Emma Fuhrmann. As you already know, Kang the Conqueror should inherit the previous super-villain Thanos. He will appear for the first time in the third “Ant-Man” film.
„Captain Marvel 2“:
Brie Larson returns as Carol Danvers in Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel 2, directed by Nia DaCosta. Joining the cast are recently announced Ms. Marvel, Iman Vellani, and Monica Rambeau, played by WandaVision’s Teyonah Parris.
Carol Danvers alias Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) gets reinforcement in “Captain Marvel 2” by Iman Vellani alias Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan) and Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris). When Kamala Khan was introduced as Ms. Marvel for the upcoming Disney + series of the same title, it was announced that the Muslim superhero would also get an appearance on the big screen. “Captain Marvel 2” is also part of Marvel Phase 5.
Director Nia DaCosta’s “Captain Marvel 2” will be on 11. November 2022 in US theaters.
„Black Panther 2“:
Black Panther Chadwick Boseman will not be replaced. Kevin Feige emphasized this again at Investor Day. But the incomparable world of Wakanda is being explored in more detail in director Ryan Coogler’s sequel to the billion-dollar hit.
The German cinema release of “Black Panther 2” is 5. May 2022.
„Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3“:
Finally there is an approximate time frame for the expected theatrical release of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3”: The unorthodox crew around Peter Quill alias Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) will be their intergalactic adventure 2023 as confirmed at Investor Day.
