All Malls in Jogja Closed July 3-20

Harianjogaja.com, JOGJA–The Association of Indonesian Shopping Center Managers (APPBI) DIY will temporarily close the mall from Thursday (3/7/2021) – Sunday (20/7/2021) following the regulations related to Emergency PPKM, but it is hoped that in the future there will be no further extensions.

“In principle, it is binding on the Central Government, it will not be different or inappropriate. However, calculated from a business or economic perspective, this is actually very burdensome,” said the Chairperson of APPBI DIY, Surya Ananta, Thursday (1/7/2021).

Ananta said the condition of the mall being closed would have a very big impact. It is also feared that it will affect employees, because each company or retail has different conditions. “Never mind closing, reducing the hours earlier from 21.00 WIB to 20.00 WIB, it has greatly affected traffic. We hope that there will be no further extensions in the future,” said Ananta.

According to Ananta, there is no need to worry too much about malls for the prevention of Covid-19. According to him, malls in DIY are very strict in implementing health protocols, starting from people coming to when they are inside the mall, the process is always carried out. “Don’t worry too much, because it’s a source of economic turnover too” [mal], and have carried out the process strictly,” he said.
