All information & canceled Mein Schiff Reisen

TUI Cruises announced today that guests can rebook all trips free of charge until March 31, 2020. At the same time, however, it was also mentioned that the upcoming trips of Mein Schiff 1 in Central America and the Caribbean trip of Mein Schiff 2 will take place in the Caribbean. In plain language means that every booked guest who should actually start a trip with the Mein Schiff 1 or Mein Schiff 2 in the next few days can now rebook free of charge and will not get his travel price paid back in the event of a possible shutdown, as he is no longer active on the Travel is booked, this saves your cash flow extremely and secures the booking for the follow-up, basically a clever move. I would be interested to know how many guests still changed their bookings during the afternoon.

This afternoon, the parent company Royal Caribbean Limited, which holds 50% of TUI Cruises GmbH, pronounced the worldwide and complete shutdown for “their fleet” – now the question arises, at least for me, if TUI Cruises is a full fleet member and therefore has to also support the shutdown or does the operational cruise business of TUI Cruises continue to operate autonomously while all other brands are being put to sleep? The answer is, TUI Cruises is one of them and does a shutdown!

When boarding Mein Schiff 1 from and to Montego Bay, I personally see massive problems and no way to carry them out due to two very simple points. The first point is the closure of the port, the ship must not enter at all. The second point is that guests are not allowed to enter Jamaica, which the government has prohibited through its entry regulations. In my eyes it has been totally clear for some time that this could not work.

TUI Cruises has now announced the shutdown on the website at 11:30 p.m. This will cancel various trips and the guests will get their money back unless they want to rebook with a 10% price advantage. Attention: TUI Cruises will only reimburse the paid travel prices at the end of April 30th, 2020, provided you do not rebook on another trip in advance or actively declare to TUI Cruises that you do not want to rebook!

TUI Cruises reports shutdown! Trips are canceled

The current situation, caused by the spread of the corona virus, presents us all with unprecedented challenges.
We do not want to expose you to the uncertain development of the coming days, restrictions on entry and exit or quarantine measures due to official requirements.

Therefore, the Mein Schiff 1 and Mein Schiff 2 prematurely end their Caribbean and Central America season. The return trip of the guests who are currently on board is currently being organized. All subsequent cruises in the Caribbean and Central America, as well as the crossings to Europe are canceled.
Against the background of the current situation in the Mediterranean, especially in Spain, the trips to the Canary Islands and the crossing from Dubai to Crete are canceled.
