United States of America (USA) is preparing to ship military aid package the last one worth US$275 million (Rp 4.2 trillion) per Ukraine. The latest aid package offers new capabilities to deter drones and strengthen air defenses against invasion Russia.
As reported Reuterson Friday (9/12/2022), this information was disclosed by a number of sources who understood the plan to send the aid package and contained it in a document seen Reuters.
This latest military aid package is expected to be announced to the public no later than Friday (9/12) local time. Details on the anti-drone and air defense equipment being delivered could not be determined.
According to the source and the document, the Pentagon or the US Department of Defense are expected to include rockets for Lockheed Martin Corp’s High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) launchers, 155mm ammunition, Humvee military vehicles and generators.
A National Security Council spokesman declined to comment on the latest military aid package. The content and size of the aid package can change until it is signed by the president.
The $275 million relief package will be covered by the Presidential Withdrawal Authority (PDA) which allows the United States to rapidly transfer equipment and bodies from existing supplies without Congressional approval to respond to emergency situations.
A senior Pentagon official who spoke on condition of anonymity revealed in November that the spike in Russian missile attacks on Ukrainian soil was intended in part to undermine Kiev’s air defense supply and gain air dominance in the country.
