Whether IKEA will claim temporary unemployment for some of its staff is not yet clear, according to the spokeswoman. “Of course we have the ambition to keep as many people as possible in work,” she says.

Electro chain MediaMarkt also says it will admit people by appointment anyway, even if that is not profitable. “We want to offer that service to our customers. In the first wave, we noticed that certain purchases were postponed because customers want advice, ”it says there.
