“All I Want for Christmas is You” with a new record

Mariah Carey’s hit “All I Want for Christmas is You” topped Bilboard’s singles chart for a record time, the publication’s website said.

The Christmas song, which dates back to 1994, is at the top of the Hot 100 chart for the sixth time, after taking second place last week.

Mariah Carey’s holiday single is the only one in the 63-year history of the chart to reach the top within three different time periods.

For the first time, “All I Want for Christmas is You” entered the top 10 on the Billboard singles chart in December 2017. Two years later, in December 2019, it climbed to the top spot, leaving three weeks.

In 2020, “All I Want for Christmas is You” once again topped the list. The song was on top for two weeks.

Mariah Carey’s iconic Christmas song from 2012 entered the charts in the period November – December.

The second position in the chart of “Bilboard” this week is also for a Christmas song – “Rockin Around the Christmas Tree”, performed by Brenda Lee, reports BTA. The song was first released in 1958.

Third on the list is Adele’s single “Easy on Me”, which topped the charts for seven consecutive weeks.

Christmas hits dominate Bilboard’s Hot 100 chart this week. The top five is complemented by Bobby Helms’ 1957 “Jingle Bell Rock” and 1964’s “A Holy Jolly Christmas” performed by Burle Ives.
