According to the Minister of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine Oleksiy Chernyshov, because of the activities of illegal gas stations, the Ukrainian economy annually loses “billions” of hryvnias.
Petrol stations (gas stations) in Ukraine will be checked. This was announced at a meeting with representatives of gas station networks and the leadership of the Oil and Gas Association of Ukraine, Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Chernyshov, informed March 26 the website of the Ministry of Regional Development.
“As a result of the joint work, the activities of all illegal petrol stations should be stopped. Work continues to identify illegal fuel turnover. All petrol stations in Ukraine will be tested,” he said.
According to the minister, because of illegal gas stations, the Ukrainian economy loses “billions” of hryvnia a year.
The ministry said that in each region there are interdepartmental groups, whose activities are “aimed at stopping the illegal turnover of fuel.”
On March 10, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmyhal instructed interdepartmental working groups to fight illegal fuel trafficking, and Antimonopoly Committee – to check compliance with the requirements legislation on the protection of economic competition in the sale of light oil products. This is how the government reacted to the increase in the cost of gasoline and diesel fuel.
According to the consulting group “A-95”, the average retail price of fuel in Ukraine in the period from November 2020 to March 25, 2021 increased by 19-21%, notes enkorr.
