While Trump needs to focus on his image, Frank says Harris needs to clearly present her policy agenda. “She gave her first major interview since her nomination two weeks ago, and the first question from the host was, ‘If you’re president, what are you going to do on day one?’ Harris struggled to put that into short, sharp bullet points.” And that’s something a presidential candidate needs to be able to do, according to Frank, especially when they’re relatively new to the race and haven’t had much time to become known to the public.
“You can also see it in the polls,” Frank continues, “when it comes to character, Harris beats Trump, and when it comes to style, she is ahead of him. So the task for both is really different.”
