Also Frida Dollekens from Nijmegen. she tells to Broadcasting Gelderland that she was very moved when she saw the dogs on TV in January. “I couldn’t sleep at night because of it. I thought: I must do everything to save at least one such animal.”
So she went to the animal shelter. “Even if that was the ugliest dog, that didn’t interest me. I only wanted to help such an animal,” Dollekens looks back.
Chihuahua Lana has been living with Dollekens for about two months now. Under the circumstances, the dog is doing well: “She couldn’t even jump on anything, she didn’t know anything about the world. The animal has to catch up for all those years and that works quite well now.” Dollekens hopes for a good future for the Chihuahua. “I wouldn’t be able to do without her anymore, the animal belongs to us.”
