Unemployment Insurance is a benefit that goes to the aid of workers affiliated with the Unemployment Fund Administrator (AFC), in the event of being laid off due to resignation, dismissal or termination of the contract.
By being part of the AFC, the workers have a Individual Unemployment Account (CIC)which they can access when they are unemployed.

In which cases can I collect Unemployment Insurance?
In order to access this financial aid, it is necessary that people meet the following requirements:
- Being unemployed and complying with any of the grounds for termination of the employment relationship contemplated in the Labor Code.
- Have a minimum of paid contributions:
- Permanent contract: at least 12 monthly contributions.
- Fixed-term contract or for specific work, task or service: at least 6 monthly contributions.
- The contributions are counted from the affiliation or from the last payment of the Insurance until the month of termination of the employment relationship. Quotes can be from one or more employers.
How to check how much money I have accumulated?
The affiliates of the Unemployment insurance they can review their records to know the amount they have accumulated in their Individual Unemployment Account, in addition to the movements and contributions.
To know the amount you have in your Unemployment Insurance you must follow the following steps:
- Enter the virtual branch of the AFC (enter here).
- Log in with RUT and Clave Única or AFC password.
- After entering the site, the system will immediately display the amount that the person has saved.
