A new season of Expedition Robinson is in full swing. For the occasion, RTL has opened a can of celebrities to compete for the win of the program. But who are all these people? JFK highlights them. This time with: Timor Steffens.
Timor Steffens is probably the most famous dancer and choreographer in the Netherlands. The 36-year-old from Roermond became famous through his participation in the talent show So You Think You Can Dance in 2008. He ultimately finished second, but his participation served as the starting signal for a glorious dancing career.
Dancing with Michael Jackson and a ‘relationship’ with Madonna
After the lost final of So You Think You Can Dance Timor Steffens decided to travel to the United States. He built up a network in Los Angeles and got a work visa. Then came the big news: Steffens was going to dance with Michael Jackson. He would accompany the ‘King of Pop’ during his This Is It-concert series in London, which was scheduled to run from July 2009 to March 2010. Unfortunately, the show never materialized, as Jackson passed away on June 25, 2009. Steffens did dance with the other backup dancers at Jackson’s memorial service and can also be seen as a dancer in the film Michael Jackson’s This Is ItHe also attended Jackson’s funeral on September 3, 2009.

But Michael Jackson is not the only big artist Timor Steffens has worked with. He has worked with Jermaine Jackson, Michael’s brother, and with singer Chris Brown and singers Christina Aguilera, Beyoncé and Madonna. According to various news media, Madonna and Steffens would even have had a ‘relationship’. According to Madonna, the ‘relationship’ E! News broke up during a vacation in the South of France. Steffens himself has always denied that he had a relationship with the 30-year-older Madonna. According to him, it was always a friendly and professional relationship.
The private life of Timor Steffens
A fun fact about Timor Steffens is that he started dancing at a later age. When he was six years old, he moved from Roermond to Rotterdam, where he studied hairdressing and electrical engineering, among other things. He did not complete either course, and at the age of eighteen he decided to give dancing a serious chance. A year later he was accepted at the Rotterdam Dance Academy, the rest is history.
In addition to being a dancer and choreographer, Timor Steffens is also active as a jury member in various television programs, including Beat the Best, Dance Dance Dance in DanceSingIn addition, he is involved as creative director in, among others, The Voice of Italy and he was one of the makers of Forever Young The Showa show that could be admired on stage at Club Escape in Amsterdam. Steffens was also seen in the feature films Burlesque in Bon Bini Holland 2.
Timor Steffens was in a relationship with model Zoey Ivory for many years, who was crowned Miss Netherlands in 2016. Their relationship ended in 2021.
