All about the twelfth day

Concarneau and Dunkirk hanging at home, Versailles beaten at home, Martigues on the podium, Saint-Brieuc (photo) finally winner, these are the highlights of the 12th day of the national team played on Friday 11 November.

None of the top three teams won, starting with US Concarneau, held in check at home by Red Star FC (0-0), which nonetheless remains a comfortable leader. This could be the main conclusion of this twelfth round of the national team, which has shown once again that nothing can be taken for granted in this championship. But other events also punctuated the evening, we’ll get to that.

One match remains to be played on this twelfth day. On Monday evening (21:00, live on Canal+ Foot) AS Nancy Lorraine will face CS Sedan-Ardenne.

Troubled leaders

The leading trio was therefore not spared. In the stellar game against Red Star FC at the Guy-Piriou stadium, US Concarneau came up against a solid Audonian team, which didn’t let themselves be counted against the best attack on the pitch. Logical result, 0-0. The tuna fishing they still maintain the five-point lead.

No goals between US Dunkerque and Paris 13 Atletico at the Marcel-Tribut stadium either (0-0). Looking for redemption after two setbacks, the northerners have never managed to criticize the defense of the promoted Ile-de-France, which managed to grab a precious point. This tie sees USLD slip from 3rd to 4th place.

But FC Versailles had even worse luck. Newly promoted Yvelinois was trapped on Jean-Bouin’s turf by red lantern, Saint-Brieuc (0-1), in his first home defeat this season. Consolation, the Versaillese still remain in second place.

The Briochin Stadium finally

We must obviously dwell on this victory of the Stade Briochin in the land of Versailles, because it is the first of the season after eleven unsuccessful matchdays. Especially since it is meritorious. The Griffins won despite the expulsion of Aimeric Gomis in the 48th minute but also a penalty awarded in the 77th minute, rejected by Sonny Brass against Kapit Djoco. Meanwhile, Amir Nouri had found Yvelin’s goal with a recovery from the right after a header on the crossbar by Remars (71′, see the video below). Even if the Bretons remain last, the ice is broken.

Martigues on the podium

Two promoted on the podium, this is probably not a common place in the national team. Thus Versailles (2nd) now has FC Martigues (3rd) on its heels. Quickly led to the goal in Bourg-en-Bresse, on a nice goal by Amine El Ouazzani (1-0, 11th), the Provençaux did not dismantle. First he equalized with a header from Romain Montiel (1-1, 28′), then he took the lead that would have been decisive with a penalty from Foued Kadir (1-2, 43′).

The other games

► Cholet and Châteauroux without voice (0-0): it is the third goalless match of the evening, without too many consequences for both teams. The Choletai fall back by one position (6th) and also the Castelroussins (9th).

► Crazy Le Mans from Le Puy (5-1) : Frustrated by three games without a win (including two defeats) and a 14th-place finish, Manceaux vented on the ponot promoted to the MMArenA with an offensive festival equalized by Makan Aïko (1-0, 28th), Hassimi Fadiga (2-0 33rd and 3-0, 59th), Théo Eyoum (4-1, 81st) and Jeffrey Quarshie (5-1, 86th, see video below)Ottman Dadoune can only save Auvergne’s honor (3-1, 78th).

Villefranche confirms the Borgo (3-2) : three goals from Caladois, scored by Rémi Sergio (0-1, 6th), Claudy Mbuyi (0-2, 18th) and Sofiane Bourouis (1-3, 83rd) weren’t enough to overcome the island’s resistance illustrated by the score reductions of Mustapha Sangaré from a penalty (1-2, 27th) and Raphaël Diarra (2-3, 87th). Played against Nancy (2-0) a week earlier, the awakening of Villefranche (8th) is confirmed.

Orléans beats Avranches (1-0) : Happiness is sometimes as simple as a punishment. The one converted by Kévin Fortuné in the 37th minute (1-0) allowed Orléanais to overcome US Avranches, regain a long-awaited success, especially in front of their home crowd at La Source, and make a leap forward in the standings , from 10th to 7th place.
