All about compulsory insurance for expats in Thailand in 1 click

(publi-information) The very cautious reopening of Thailand and the maintenance of restrictions in place which should last at least until June 2021 complicate the procedures for tourists but also for expatriates wishing to return to the country.

Which visa is better to apply for and what documents do I need to provide?

Expat Insurance Scanner (EIS) summarizes the situation and informs you about compulsory insurance and the costs incurred.

• Compulsory Covid insurance with a minimum coverage of 100,000 USD

This insurance is compulsory for all types of visas. If you already have international insurance, you are probably already covered and can request a certificate from your insurer. If not, we can help you find the best expat insurance that will meet your needs and also meet the criteria of the Thai authorities.

The other option if you have no coverage at all and want to spend as little as possible is travel insurance. The cost of it is 7,500 baht for 3 months and 25,500 baht for one year, we can provide the certificate to you very soon after payment.

• Insurance for the retirement visa (Non O – OA – OX)

Many retirees are at the Caisse des Français de l’Etranger (CFE) and meet the criteria requested by the Thai authorities (400,000 baht coverage for hospitalization and 40,000 baht coverage for outpatient / routine medicine). But CFE is not recognized by Thailand and therefore additional insurance is required for visa application. The goal is therefore to find the cheapest possible solution and we have the solution. The cost of this insurance (with a deductible of 200,000 baht) varies between 6,000 baht and 11,400 baht depending on the age group and you can subscribe up to 75 years. Note that we also have options for older people.

EIS can support and advise you in all of your steps and help you determine the best solution for your project. Contact us via this form in French or directly by e-mail.
