“Moskvich” is back, the advertising slogan sounded. For now – back to the factory.
The production of the purely Russian and slightly Chinese “Moskvich”, which was supposed to compensate for the exit from Russia of the world’s car manufacturers, got off to a false start and all 86 cars sold will be taken back to the factory, reported the specialized Russian site Motor.ru.
Two months after the start of sales, it turned out that mistakes were made in the translation of the on-board computer menu. For this reason, the company is recalling all 86 cars sold to install new software. Moskvich tried to keep things in style by calling the return of the marriage for repair a “service campaign” for a “planned software upgrade”.
According to users, the display of the new “Muscovite” displayed technical error messages with spelling and grammatical errors. For example, the panel displayed text (the original spelling is preserved) “Right rear tire pressure sensor not detected”which, if we try to convey it, we must write as
“Right rear tire pressure sensor not detected”.
According to Motor.ru, it is a question of incorrect Russification of the menu in the computer system of “Moskvich 3”. Russian letters in the electronic panel, Russification, was the only or one of the few things that distinguished the “Russian” Moskvich 3 from the Chinese JAC JS4 car, commented on social networks in Russia. The second difference is the name plate on the body. The Chinese JAC JS4 comes pre-assembled from China to Russia, where they just need to put a name plate on it and install a Russian menu.
As of today, Moskvich 3 costs on the Russian market 23,800 euros with a regular gearbox and 24,650 euros with an automatic. The price of the electric “Moskvich 3e” is 42,400 euros. By the end of the year, the premiere of a sedan and another SUV is expected, which, according to rumors, will receive the names “Moskvich 5” and “Moskvich 6”.
