Dr. May Taj El-Din, a food safety consultant, confirmed that there is no objection to drinking alkaline water, but it should be consumed in moderation, because excessive water has negative effects on the body.
Tajuddin said that the benefits of alkaline water have not yet been proven by studies and research, but it is famous for its great ability to stimulate blood circulation and improve the flow of oxygen-laden blood to all parts of the body.
And the food safety consultant warned against drinking alkaline water daily or in large quantities, because it may cause changes in the physiology of the body, due to its high content of minerals.
She recommended relying on tap water to drink, and eating alkaline water from time to time.
