Alisha Lehmann: She is compared to Ronaldo and Beckham

Alisha Lehmann is one of the most successful athletes on Instagram with over 16 million followers. However, the 24-year-old is repeatedly confronted with hostility – often it’s about appearances. The TV presenter Vicki Blommé now defended her.

Comments like: “Makeup doesn’t play football” or “Have you ever felt like a Muppet because you’re the only one playing a sport with makeup on?” are part of everyday life for Alisha Lehmann on Instagram. After the big national team defeat against Spain, for example, it was said: “All the make-up, only to lose 7-1 at home.”

Blommé works for the Swedish broadcaster C More and, among other things, runs the podcast “Fotbolls Systrar”. In this she talks about Alisha Lehmann and her situation and chooses a comparison with two football icons. “Yes, she plays with her sexuality, but that has been done many times before. Look at David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo.” It’s clear to her: “I think make-up and body care are viewed differently than when a man does his hair.”

Many people would think of it as vanity, but it is also a feeling, “the feeling of feeling confident and strong,” Bloomé continued. Of course the attention would deviate somewhat from football, but Blommé is convinced that this was also the case with Beckham in the past. «There’s nothing wrong with playing football with makeup. We have to stop blaming them.”

The footballer has often commented on this. She doesn’t really care about such comments, says Lehmann. You can even draw positive energy from it. But she finds it difficult when her relatives have to read such things. “It bothers me more for my family, sometimes I feel bad when my mother sends me things,” explains the Nati player and says she is demanding of her mother to ignore those messages.
