Alisarda says goodbye to Costa Smeralda, the airport acquired by the F2i Fund


The remaining 20 percent of Geasar remains with the Sassari and Nuoro Chamber of Commerce and the Sardinia Region

OLBIA. F2i sgr, the main Italian infrastructure fund, has signed an agreement to acquire 80% of Geasar, the Olbia Costa Smeralda airport management company, from Alisarda Spa.

The acquisition, whose completion remains conditional on the authorizations of the competent authorities (Agcom for the competitive profiles and the Presidency of the Council with respect to the goldenpower legislation), will be carried out through F2i Aeroporti 2 which today already controls Sogeaal (71%), a company of management of Alghero airport.

The Chambers of Commerce of Sassari and Nuoro and the Region of Sardinia will remain shareholders of Geasar (Olbia) with approximately 20% of the capital.

The Sardinia Region is already a partner of F2i Aeroporti 2 in Sogeaal (Alghero) with a direct and indirect share of 29% .F2i Aeroporti 2, which will consolidate the airport activities of northern Sardinia (approximately 4.4 million total passengers in 2019) , will be controlled by two funds managed by F2i and by Fondazione Sardegna which, given the importance of the transaction for the territory, has chosen to support F2i in the investment.
