Aliou Dia is no longer the spokesperson for Mbeuleukhé’s religious family. He was replaced in this post by his antagonist and rival brother, Habib Dia. His remarks deemed “inappropriate” against the new Caliph during the ceremony of the eighth day of the call to God of the late Caliph Eladji Moussa Dia, won. The new caliph made this decision yesterday Monday at his home in front of several members of the family, two weeks after his enthronement.
Arrested, Aliou Dia reveals that he resigned the day Eladji Moussa Dia died. According to him, it was the late Caliph who had appointed him spokesperson for the family for more than thirty years. After his death, he no longer considers it appropriate to continue this mission, indicated the now ex-spokesperson for Mbeuleukhé.
It should be noted that for a little less than ten years, the former spokesperson Aliou Dia and part of the family no longer speak the same language. Two parallel gamous are organized each year. Aliou Dia’s camp and Habib Dia’s camp are still looking at each other like faience dogs.
As proof, during the ceremony of the eighth day of the recall to God of the late Caliph Eladji Moussa Dia, the two camps had refused to meet in the same tent to welcome the hosts who came to present their condolences.
