Alienware is introducing four new gaming laptops at CES. The manufacturer supplies laptops with 13th generation Intel processors, and with some laptops there is an option for an unannounced AMD chip. The slim X16 contains a touchpad with RGB lighting.
Alienware M18
With the M18, Alienware is using an 18″ screen in a laptop for the first time in years. Although Alienware says nothing about the video card, the rest of the parts seem to indicate that the manufacturer has used only the fastest parts. The processor they’re from Intel’s 13th-generation HX series, which are the fastest processors the manufacturer can deliver at a tdp of 55W. There will also be a version with an AMD processor, but Alienware won’t say which ones yet. which are “next- gen”, but the type number is not communicated.
There is also up to 64GB of RAM and the hardware is cooled using four fans. You can ultimately order the M18 with up to 9TB of storage, spread across four M.2 slots. The 18″ screen has a refresh rate of 480Hz if you choose the 1920×1200 resolution option. There is also a 2560×1600 resolution and 165Hz version. Both screens are Dolby Vision certified and display the full P3 color space. The M18 will be available in Europe on February 14. European prices are not yet known, but in the US the cheapest version will cost $2100.

Alienware M16
The M16 is the little brother of the M18, but is also equipped with Intel’s 13th generation HX processors. As the name suggests, the M16 features a 16″ display, with a choice of three panels. The fastest is a 1920×1200 panel with a 480Hz refresh rate, while there are also options for 2560×1600 panels with 165 or 240Hz .In all cases there is support for G-Sync or FreeSync and Dolby Vision.
As with the M18, there are four M.2 slots for storage, with up to 9TB according to Dell. The working memory here is also a maximum of 64GB. As with the M18, Dell still can’t say which video cards the M16 can be equipped with. The M16 will be available in Europe just like the M18 on Valentine’s Day. Prices are still unknown. In the US, the M16 will be available first for at least $1,900.

Alienware X16
Just like the M16, the X16 has a 16″ screen, but has a much thinner case and features a touchpad with RGB lighting. The case has a maximum thickness of 1.86 centimeters and the whole weighs in the heaviest version 2.72 kilograms. The X16 comes only with Intel processors and Nvidia video cards. There is also a large selection of the latest generation cards. The RTX 4050, 4060 and 4070 are set to a consumption maximum of 140W. The RTX 4080 and 4090 operate at a maximum of 175W.
The X16 can be equipped with up to two SSDs, possibly in a raid 0 configuration. The same image panels as the M16 can be chosen. In all cases they are equipped with Advanced Optimus. The X16 will be available in Europe from February 23rd. This is already the case in the US, where the cheapest version will cost $2150.

Alienware X14
Finally, the X14 is the new 14″ model from Alienware, with a housing made of an aluminum and magnesium alloy. At 1.45 centimeters thick, it is according to Alienware the thinnest 14″ model ever. The laptop features an Intel H-series processor, so with a tdp of 45W, but Dell can lower that as well. Dell doesn’t say exactly how the processor is configured. As for video cards, Dell can supply the X14 with an RTX 3050, but also a recently introduced RTX 4050 or 4060. A maximum consumption of 85 W is maintained, no doubt because the relatively compact housing is not suited to dissipate more heat. The laptop uses a vapor chamber and two individually controlled fans for cooling. Unfortunately, the X14 will not be available in Europe. It should be available soon in the US for $1,800.
