It is increasingly common to hear that people begin to believe in extraterrestrial life, and this may be a possibility if we only think about how vast the Universe is.
Precisely because of the above, today we want to talk to you about the deductions reached by an investigator, who assured that in our galaxy there are at least four “hostile” civilizations.

It turns out that it all started when Messaging Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence (METI) astronomers planned to send messages into space – once again – in the hope of meeting other intelligent species in the Universe.
And as a result of that, a Spanish researcher from the University of Vigo has given a rough estimate of how many “malicious extraterrestrial civilizations” could be lurking in the Milky Way.

The conclusion he reached was that there are nearly four civilizations that could possibly exist in our galaxy with malicious intent and that they could end up attacking us.
Regarding the above, it turns out that in 1977, the Big Ear telescope at Ohio State University (USA) received a powerful burst of radio waves that lasted one minute and 12 seconds. The signal contained an alphanumeric code that came as a surprise to astronomers studying it, hence the name WoW signal. The signal could have originated from a Sun-like star 1,800 light-years away from Earth, according to Caballero.
The study titled “Estimation of the prevalence of malicious extraterrestrial civilizations”have “some limitations”, admitted the author. At the moment, it has not been reviewed by other astronomers (it is on the arXiv preprint server), and the article is considered more of a “thought experiment” than anything else.

The Data: By extrapolating data on the world history of invasions in the past century, the military capabilities of the countries involved, the global growth rate of energy consumption, and applying these data to the number of known and estimated exoplanets, and potentially exoplanets livable.
The conclusion is that there is a 0.0014% chance that the Earth will be invaded by a technologically advanced civilization, according to this work. And, mathematically, there is less of a civilization capable of interstellar travel than would be necessary for an invasion.
