Alicja Konieczek finished 13th in the 3000m steeplechase at the Paris Games with a time of 9:21.31. The gold medal went to Winfred Mutile Yavi from Bahrain, who broke the Olympic record with a time of 8:52.76.

Silver was won by Peruth Chemutai, who set a Ugandan record with a time of 8:53.34, while bronze went to Kenyan Faith Cherotich with a time of 8:55.15.
Just off the podium was Frenchwoman Alice Finot, who improved the European record to 8.58.67.
Ethiopian Sembo Almayew was fifth, while world record holder Beatrice Chepkoech from Kenya finished sixth.
