Alicia Witt was dealing with the tragedy of her parents’ deaths around the same time she began chemotherapy for breast cancer, the Hallmark star revealed in a recent Instagram post.
She was just starting her treatments when her parents died.
In an Instagram post, Witt revealed that he used Penguin Cold Caps to help reduce hair loss.
She wrote: “For me, this was a necessary part of my healing, particularly given the horrible tragedy that had befallen our family just as I was beginning my treatments.”
At the time, with so many questions about his parents’ deaths, Witt publicly shared some of the struggles he had. She said her parents hadn’t let her into her house in years and continually turned down her many offers of help, even when she tried to convince them to move out. She said that she had begged and cried, asking them to let her help, but they always refused her.
Witt wrote in a post on December 1: “I had my first of 6 rounds of chemical therapy. I’m lucky this happened to me now, instead of 25 years ago, when diseased cells with this protein receptor were considered difficult to treat.” This was just a few weeks before her parents were found dead.
Witt said she received her HER2 breast cancer diagnosis on November 4, while on her way to a friend’s birthday party. She also shared that she is now cured of cancer.
She wrote on Facebook: “Friends, I am recovering from a unilateral mastectomy. All of the tissue removed (as well as my blood) was *negative*. Gratitude overrides everything else.”
She recommends Penguin Cold Caps for anyone undergoing chemotherapy.
In his Facebook post, Witt wrote: “I used Penguin Cold Caps and held back enough of my hair to keep working,” she wrote.
Witt shared more details in her recent Instagram post.
She wrote that her last chemotherapy treatment was just over two months ago.
She said: “I had a small group of human angels surrounding me throughout the 6 treatments, not only to keep my spirits up, but also to care for and change my @penguincoldcapsglobal“.
One of the close friends who helped her out was Hallmark star Erin Cahill, whom she tagged in her post.
