Alicia Silverstone stripped for PETA: ‘I never go naked, that’s how important animals are to me’

Alicia Silverstone is showing the world how much she cares about animal rights by posing nude for PETA’s new campaign.

“I never, never strip on TV, in movies, in anything, ever! But I did it for PETA because it’s important to me,” says the 46-year-old actress, who was a highly sought-after beauty in the recent past.

“The amount of resources, water, food, oil for transportation, the amount of energy that goes into leather production is extraordinary. The earth can’t handle that,” he insists.

Known for her pioneering work in animal welfare, the organization’s new commercial ‘Prickly’ features the actress in a desert, wearing nothing but cowboy boots in a cactus field.

“Dress vegan. Buy cactus skin, mushroom or apple!”.

For years, the “Clueless” star, who became a vegan in 1999, has used her platform to speak out about animal rights. While the ad uses humor with its choice of words, Silverstone’s expression shows how serious she is as she looks straight into the camera as she covers her private parts.

“My dream is to put these vegan and earth-friendly materials into the hands of well-known designers,” she continues in the video, which features behind-the-scenes footage from her shoot. “I’d rather walk naked than wear animal skins,” repeats PETA’s famous slogan, the San Francisco-born star dressed in a beautiful tunic before filming.

PETA says it will launch its new ad campaign featuring Silverstone on a billboard in Times Square before the New Year’s Ball.
