World star Alicia Keys (38) thinks music saved her life. “If I hadn’t become a singer, I might have ended up as a prostitute or drug addict,” the American singer stated boldly while promoting her new album.

“I was that person. The one who wouldn’t succeed outside of Hell’s Kitchen (a New York district with a bad reputation for poverty, crime, and prosperity, ed.). The one who would eventually become a prostitute, a mother of 16 or drugged, ”Keys said in an interview with the British newspaper The Guardian.
That possible life is contained in the title of Underdog, one of the songs on her brand new album Alicia. Fortunately for her, her talent has given her a completely different fate, but she doesn’t want to forget her past. “I wrote all the songs when I was down. Because I have to realize where I come from ”.
Alicia came out Friday. It is her first record since 2016. Alicia Keys is best known for the hits Fallin’ (2001) in If I ain’t got you (2004).
