23-year-old Alice Wood from Cheshire in England is accused of killing her boyfriend Ryan Watson (24) outside the couple’s home on 6 May last year.
The trial against Wood is ongoing in Chester District Court. This is reported by several British newspapers, including The Telegraph.

In the courtroom, it should have emerged that Watson was hit twice by Wood’s Ford Fiesta, and then dragged after the car for about 150 metres.
Was on a birthday
Earlier that evening, the couple had attended a birthday party together. Watson worked at a brain injury charity, Headway, and the party was arranged for a user.
Andrew Ford, the prosecutor in the case, stated that video material from the party should have shown that there was a strained atmosphere between the couple already here.

– Ryan was filmed looking like he was having a good time. He behaved like a social and outgoing party-goer, having fun and dancing, he claimed.
According to Ford, guests are said to have described Wood as “a bit cold”, and that it looked as if she did not want to be there.
Furthermore, Ford said that Wood and Watson should have argued in his car on the way home from the party.

Must have lost his temper
Wood, according to the prosecutor, must have lost his temper during the argument with his girlfriend in the car when they were both drunk.
– Things escalated, he got out of the car and kicked a car door. Then she lost her temper and used the car as a weapon. She allegedly got into her own Ford Fiesta and backed into her boyfriend, almost hitting him.

Then Wood allegedly ran into him, so he slammed into the bonnet and fell in front of the car, according to Ford.

At about 11.30pm that evening, Wood knocked on the door of a nearby house and is said to have said: “Please call an ambulance. I think I ran over my girlfriend.”

After a short time, Wood was arrested, suspected of murdering his girlfriend. According to one of the investigators, she should have said “it’s okay, I deserve it”, when she was picked up by the police.
The trial is expected to last three weeks, and Alice Wood denies criminal guilt in the case.
