A new gem of women’s soccer has revealed her potential with the Mexican team. Alice Soto, 18 years old, can now boast a perfect debut with the Tricolor, led by Pedro López, by scoring a double in the 4-0 win over Thailand in a friendly duel.
It is the second victory that the women’s team has achieved after beating Venezuela 3-0 on Saturday in another preparation match. Now facing Thailand and encouraged by a decent entrance at the Nemesio Diez stadium, in Toluca, the tricolors confirmed their good progress while coach Pedro López gave the opportunity to new talents.
She had barely been on the field for a little over a minute when Alice Soto (47) showed her potential as a scorer. The young midfielder from Pachuca rescued the ball on the court after a rebound and surprised the Thai goalkeeper with a shot from close range to score the second goal for the Mexicans.
Thus, in his debut and with his first touches on the ball, Soto presented himself as one of the promises of Mexican soccer.
The young midfielder would make it clear that the unexpected goal had not been fortuitous, because in the final stretch she reached the goal again. This time, he scored a great goal after a wall play to seal with power from the crescent at 90+4.
