This Sunday, June 26, Alice Attal took to her Instagram account to post an overview of her New York life. Slender silhouette and clothing style all her own…no doubt, she is her mother’s daughter!
The apple didn’t fall very far from the tree! Alice Attal, soon to be 20, is the worthy heiress of Charlotte Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin. In line with her mother and her grandmother, – from whom she inherited the slender figure – the young woman displays a pronounced taste for fashion. Red mane, false nails and subversive outfits, Alice Attal imposes herself with a style of her own. On Instagram, it is on a rooftop in New York, wearing an XL blazer with nothing underneath and a cigarette in hand that the student strikes a pose, as cheeky as her illustrious ancestry. Indeed, before her, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin also stood out for their style, sometimes sober, often daring. And the fashion DNA doesn’t just stem from the mother and grandmother, since Alice Attal’s illustrious grandpa, Serge Gainsbourg, was also renowned for his style. Icon of the song, the dandy was also one of fashion, thanks to signature looks tinged with elegance and casualness. Between denim shirts, pinstriped blazers, white repettos and cascades of jewels, Serge Gainsbourg maintains to this day a style that is admired and often copied, but never equaled.

After the departure of the eldest, Ben, now 25, Alice Attal also ended up setting sail. An ordinary passage in a life, but which always does a little something for the parents. “departure children, it’s something we don’t talk about a lot. My sister Kate told me, when her son left home, that we were being prepared to be pregnant, to become mothers, to face our children’s adolescence, but not when they left.“, confided Charlotte Gainsbourg to the Parisian, “Alice’s departure was very very painful, very, very difficult. When a child leaves home, it’s a whole balance that needs to be rethought.“
