Alicante Ranks 8th in Spanish Tourism Search Ranking for July: Jetcost.es Study

ALICANTE. Alicante once again appears in the top positions of another tourism outlook report. Specifically, a new study prepared by the flight and hotel search engine Jetcost.es places the capital of the Costa Blanca as the eighth most sought-after Spanish city by national tourists to enjoy a holiday stay during this month of July.

According to this report, Alicante is also the second best positioned town in the ranking among the group of cities in the Community, being only surpassed by Benidorm. In fact, Benidorm leads the ranking as the first destination in number of searches, according to Jetcost.es. Then, other large cities would follow that usually attract thousands of visitors for their cultural, service or sun and beach offerings, such as Madrid, Barcelona, ​​Cádiz, Málaga and Salou.

Alicante would occupy eighth position ahead of other tourist centers such as A Coruña, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Chiclana de la Frontera, Torremolinos, San Sebastián, Conil de la Frontera or Almería. In place number 16, the city of València would appear, another of the country’s main destinations in the Mediterranean arc, which would be followed by Ibiza, Granada, Huelva or Gijón up to number 20.

However, to find other traditional summer locations such as Las Palmas de Gran Canaria you would have to reach position 35, while the three remaining towns in the Community included in the classification, Peñíscola, Calp and Dénia, are in places 32, 43 and 45 respectively.

The truth is that the city has already occupied other relevant positions in other studies carried out by Jetcost.es. Specifically, as this newspaper reported, Alicante was the most sought after destination among British travelers in order to enjoy a few days of vacation during the month of August, in addition to being the third most requested destination by the Dutch, the fourth for the Germans and French. , the seventh for the Portuguese and the tenth for the Italians.

These studies would be reflected in the occupancy estimates for the central two months of the summer campaign, in which occupancy is expected to be above 80% in the month of July and close to 90% in the month of August in both hotels and in tourist apartments, waiting for last minute reservations.
