The Metropolitan Police of Medellín, together with officers in uniform from the Dijín and the Attorney General’s Office, announced the capture of the alias Gato or Rumba, one of the leaders of the José Antonio Galán in front of the National Liberation Army (ELN).

According to official information, the operation took place in the town of San Antonio de Prado in the capital city of Antioquia, where the authorities arrived at a residence where this subject was located.

The mayor of Medellín, Federico Gutiérrez, confirmed that one of the men most wanted by the Police in the Antioquia department was arrested.

“In Medellín we do not open the door to criminals. In our attack against illegality and as a result of the coordinated work between the Dijin, the Metropolitan Police and the Office of the Attorney General, we managed to capture the third leader in front of José Antonio Galán of the ELN ,” wrote the district president in his X account. .

Likewise, the mayor pointed out that the alias Gato o Rumba “was signed to lead an armed attack against the national army in Puerto Berrio, Antioquia (…) and who was on the quarter most wanted in the department of Antioquia for the murder of social leaders”.
