Alianza Petrolera is one of the teams that, despite having a chance to qualify, has one of the most difficult prospects in the final stretch.

The BetPlay League has already entered its final stretch in the ‘all against all’ and several teams are with calculators in hand. To date, there are five clubs qualified for the home runs and there are only three spots left that are disputed by eight squads that have a chance of getting into the year-end party.

Águilas Doradas (38), Medellín (35), Tolima (31), América (30) and Nacional (30) are the teams already classified. They passed the 30-point threshold and are already mathematically within the home runs.

After them the accounts begin. Millonarios, with 29 units, is the most benefited. If he achieves a draw or a victory this Wednesday in El Campín against Boyacá Chicó, he would be ready to defend his title in the home runs. In addition, they have two games left: away against América de Cali, on October 30, and against Equidad, still without a date.

For Alberto Gamero’s team, it will be key to achieve victory against the chessmen this week, since in this way they would ensure their classification and could concentrate on the Colombia Cup semifinal series against Cúcuta Deportivo.

After Millonarios, Alianza Petrolera appears with 25 points and a difficult outlook. On the next date they will visit Atlético Nacional and on the last day they will close in Barrancabermeja against Deportivo Pereira.

Although the score to qualify without problems is 30 units, there is a possibility that some teams could participate in the home runs with fewer points, it could be 27, according to Matics, a sports data platform.

Therefore, the Aurinegros will have to go out and look for victory at home and, at least, a draw against Nacional. With the task, also, of improving their goal difference, which, at the moment, is -5.

After Alianza Petrolera, Junior appears in eighth position with 24 units. The shark will face Pereira, as a visitor, and Huila, as a local. If those from Barranquilla achieve a victory and a draw, they could be within the eight. In addition, they have a good goal difference (+8) that can be decisive in this final stretch.

In similar conditions, Deportivo Cali is in ninth position with 24 units. The Caleños will play at home against Jaguares and will visit Boyacá Chicó on the last date. A victory and a draw would be ideal, but they have a negative result in goal difference (-2). Therefore, the most convenient thing would be to seek the six points and secure classification.

Atlético Bucaramanga appears in tenth place with 23 units and -2 in goal difference. Their next games will be at home against La Equidad and against América, as a visitor. The leopards have to come out, at least, for a win and a draw and wait for results.

After Santander, Pasto and Santa Fe appear with 23 points, but with -4 and -7 in goal difference, respectively. Both clubs have to go out for both victories if they dream of playing home runs. Those from Nariño play at home against Medellín and close by visiting Envigado, while those from the capital will visit Huila and close against Once Caldas in El Campín.

Finally, and as strange as it may seem, Unión Magdalena, already relegated, could play home runs. With 22 points and -6 goals in the difference, he would have a remote mathematical chance if he wins his two remaining games and the other results favor him. They will play against Tolima, as a visitor, and against Medellín, as a local. Difficult.

This Monday the second team that will be relegated to the second division may be decided. Atlético Huila visits América de Cali at Pascual Guerrero. The Opitas would remain in first place if they win their three games and await the results of Once Caldas, who would not have to score more than two points; of Jaguares, who does not make more than one unit, and of Envigado, who would have to lose everything.

However, if Atlético Huila loses or draws with the Red Devils tonight, they will join Unión Magdalena next year in the second division.
