The Head of State during his Republican tour on June 8, 2023 in Mouila, promised to support the projects of young Gabonese entrepreneurs.
These are indeed two funds, namely the fund of 7 billion FCFA intended for entrepreneurs who wish to develop projects and the fund of an amount of 2 billion FCFA is intended for a program of assistance for generating activities of income (AGR) of economically weak Gabonese (GEF). The objective of this financing is to fight against unemployment in Gabon.
Indeed, this allowance will be granted to economically weak Gabonese exercising an activity on an individual basis, in a cooperative or in an association in areas such as trade, crafts, agriculture, fishing, livestock, services, the small change. To qualify for this funding, they mustcomplete a request for assistance to be submitted to the various provincial delegations including the description of their activities at the Ministry of Social Affairs with a copy of their National Identity Card, a copy of the Cnamgs GEF card as well as all other copies justifying their status cooperative or association“, maintains the government.
Remember that Gabon is one of the African countries where the youth unemployment rate is the highest. It is estimated at 21.5% in January 2023. The International Labor Organization (ILO), announced that Gabon has one of the highest youth unemployment rates in sub-Saharan Africa.
