Alhaurín will finally have a taxi adapted for the town
The municipality of Alhaurín el Grande has been without a taxi adapted for the transport of people with reduced mobility for more than 5 years, these users having to resort to taxis from other locations to be able to get around.
A situation that not only contravenes current regulations but also basic principles such as equal opportunities and assistance for people with disabilities.
This has been indicated by the general secretary of 100% Alhaurín, Anthony Bermúdez:
“It is embarrassing that a town of 24,000 inhabitants like Alhaurín el Grande does not have a basic service and that citizens with reduced mobility must call Coín or Alhaurín de la Torre to find an adapted and accessible taxi.”
In this sense, the motion of 100% Alhaurín proposes:
“Grant an adapted autotaxi license for people with reduced mobility among those already existing taxi licenses and set a maximum period of 3 months for its start-up and in case of non-compliance with the established deadlines proceed to the granting of a new taxi license in the municipality for people with reduced mobility ”.
On the other hand, the motion of 100% Alhaurín, proposes to grant a municipal subsidy:
“For the adaptation or acquisition of an adapted vehicle for the benefit of the person who obtains the license for an adapted autotaxi for people with reduced mobility.”
A grant linked to a minimum commercial exploitation right and obligation of 8 years.
Anthony Bermúdez Beltrón thanked both the PSOE and Adelante Alhaurín and the Popular Party for their support of the motion, although he urged everyone, and in particular the government team, to make it effective as soon as possible.
“We hope that this motion will soon become a reality and will not remain on paper like many others. This town cannot continue to turn its back on so many people with reduced mobility ”.
