ALGHERO. Moments of apprehension were experienced this morning in Alghero due to a bomb alarm, which later proved to be unfounded. The bomb squads of the carabinieri intervened in via Biasi for a suspicious object, reported in a private access near the basketball gym and the nursery school. The road was immediately closed to traffic and the area was isolated. The military verified that the suspect object was a metal tube, free from explosives. The Carabinieri of the Company of Alghero, led by Captain Pietro Barrel, are investigating to verify whether an intimidating act can still be hidden behind the affair. (HANDLE).
