Qatari Ambassador to Algeria Abdelaziz Ali Al-Naama announced the imminent launch of work on the construction of the Algerian-Qatari-German hospital in Algiers.

“Regarding the Algerian-Qatari-German hospital project, the Algerian-Qatari Health Services Company has taken the necessary steps to begin work, with the imminent start of preparatory work, excavations and leveling. The architectural plans have already been drawn up, and the construction of the hospital will be carried out quickly in accordance with the agreed schedules,” the Qatari diplomat explained in a interview given to the daily newspaper El Khabarwho asked him about the progress of the project.

The Qatari ambassador stressed that “this project is a priority for both countries, as it will contribute to improving the health sector in Algeria by providing medical services, especially for specialized operations requiring treatment abroad.”

“It is also expected to strengthen the skills of Algerian doctors and provide a platform to train local professionals in the latest medical technologies, which will improve the level of health services in Algeria. This project could serve as a model for international partnerships focused on developing health infrastructure in the region,” he said.

As part of the Algerian-Qatari-German hospital project, a company owned 60% by the Qatari Elegancia Fund and 40% by the National Investment Fund (FNI) was created, the FNI announced last May, recalling that this project called: “Algerian Qatari Healthcare Services”, is the “fruit of cooperation between the Algerian State and the Emirate of Qatar.”

With a capacity of 300 beds and to be located in Sidi Abdellah (West of Algiers), the Algerian-Qatari-German hospital should enter service in 2025. The project of this hospital will be accompanied by a training institute for medical staff.

This modern hospital includes 30 intensive care units, 15 operating theatres and 40 outpatient clinics, in addition to 20 emergency areas, bringing together high-level medical skills and cutting-edge diagnostic and treatment technologies in one place.

The project will also help address a wide range of medical needs, including specialized medical services such as complex heart disease, liver surgery, neurosurgery and spinal deformities, as well as oncological surgery and chemotherapy.
