Alfonso Rueda Signs Decree for New Government Structure and Ministers in Santiago de Compostela

EFE Santiago de Compostela 06/14/2023 at 22:36 CEST

The president of the Xunta, Alfonso Rueda, signed shortly after eight o’clock this afternoon the decree on the structure of the new Government and the ministers who change powers or join will take office this Thursday at 9:30 am.

The act of inauguration, which Rueda himself will preside over, will take place in the Pazo de Raxoi, in Santiago de Compostela, and after it will take place the usual meeting of the Xunta Council, which is held every Thursday.

Rueda has remodeled his government -the first change he made after his inauguration last May to replace Alberto Núñez Feijóo- due to the departure of the First Vice President and Minister of Economy, Industry and Innovation, Francisco Conde, as number one on the list for Lugo to Congress for the general elections of 23J.

In addition, the Minister of the Sea, Rosa Quintana, is also leaving her position – which will be occupied by the current acting mayor of Cervo (Lugo), Alfonso Villares – to go number two for Ourense.

The other addition to the regional Executive is that of Elena Rivo, the until now vice-rector of the Ourense campus of the University of Vigo, who will be Minister of Emprego and Equality, replacing María Jesús Lorenzana, who will now deal with powers in matters of Economy, Industry and Innovation.

The other part of the department that until now was directed by Conde, the first Vice-presidency passes into the hands of the second vice-president, Diego Calvo; while the Minister for the Environment, Ánxeles Vázquez, will occupy the second Vice-Presidency.

These are the changes that they will become effective this Thursday with the inauguration of the new conselleiros and conselleiras, while the rest of the members of the Xunta continue in their respective positions.
