Voice actor Alfonso Obregón Inclán, known for voicing Shrek, was declared innocent of the sexual abuse charges against him and for which he was arrested on August 9.
Regarding one of the young women, he decided in my favor no link to the process, due to lack of evidence; and in the second procedure, a decision of dismissal was issued, with the effects of an acquittal judgment,
he said in a statement shared on his Instagram account.
Earlier this month, Obregón was detained at Mexico City International Airport as he was preparing to leave the country for a work trip, and was transferred to the Northern Men’s Preventive Prison after one of his students reported him for sexual abuse. A week later, he was notified that a second complaint for the same crime had been filed against him by another young woman.
In his defense, the actor who also voiced Naruto’s Kakashi and Madagascar’s Marty the zebra said it was all a misunderstanding. “At no time was it my intention to inappropriately touch the two young women who reported me., that it was all a class for academic and educational purposes, without making contact with the young women with any sexual intention or libido purposes”.
Following his arrest, Obregón said he would adapt his teaching techniques so that none of his students would feel harassed again.
I want to say that I see these events as a life experience, since I take it as a learning experience, to adapt my teaching methods, with the aim that the new generations feel included. Thus, these events have served me as a construction process to improve as a teacher, in addition to being able to involve and make the new generations participate in better teaching methods to leave a legacy of this profession that I love so much. In a video posted on his social media, he also thanked his friends for their support during his time in prison. He also said that he is fine, at home and with his loved ones.
