Alfambra Agroganadera Fair 2024: Program, Exhibitions, and Competitions Revealed by Miguel Ángel Navarro

Alfambra will celebrate from May 3 to 5 the seventh edition of the Agroganadera Fair, which will start this Friday with technical discussions aimed at ranchers and farmers and will appear during the weekend an exhibition of tools and livestock, as well as entertainment such as competitions and exhibitions. . The details of the fair were given this Thursday at a press conference by the Vice President of Agriculture and Livestock, Miguel Ángel Navarro, and the mayor of Alfambra José Manuel Monferrer.

From the Regional Council of Teruel, Navarro has reiterated the importance of fairs for the Teruel region, due to their economic and social nature as a meeting place, and he has recalled that this is why the regional institution ‘dedicate every year a separate series of support to these events, which amounts to 120,000 euros.

He explained that the regional institute has also collaborated in organizing the entire livestock part, providing 18 of the 24 lots of Aragonese sheep and black eyes for the presentation part. In total you will see a hundred sheep, as well as goats, donkeys and horses. In addition to the regional institution, the event is supported by the Community Department of Teruel and Caja Rural, as well as in collaboration with Trufa Mudéjar.

Programming

On Friday the activities will start at Teruel Town Hall from 5pm, with a talk on the REDAGRIFOODTE project, on the revaluation of sheep’s wool, given by Blanca Abril, researcher at CITA Teruel. Next, increasing the profitability of sheep farms will be addressed using calf control data, which will be taught by Barbara Sentre, head of the Oviaragón Teruel veterinary team.

After that, the speech given by Gabriel Pérez Casas, head of the farm renewal section of the Regional Service of Agriculture, Livestock and Food of Teruel, will address the lines of support for the establishment of agricultural activities and the renewal of agricultural farms. And the technical discussions will end with one given by Carmen Yago, head of Trufa Mudéjar, on the introduction to truffle farming.

During the weekend in the tent there will be an animal show, a collection of rehalas, an indoor market with a dozen stalls and a children’s playground.

On Saturday the program starts with a tractor parade, in which the residents of the towns will take part, from 9am although the official opening will be at 11am, when the classic car meeting and the children’s tractor race will also start . Then, at 11:30 a skill competition is planned with a tractor and trailer, which the mayor has highlighted for the necessary skill to participate, and at 1 pm it will be time for the drone flight demonstration with Carmen Yago, responsible for Trufa Mudéjar.

After the popular meal, for which more than 300 people have already signed up, winking, morra and paintball competitions are scheduled for all listeners, as well as children’s crafts. Starting at 7pm there will be dancing with music followed by a sandwich dinner. Sunday’s program features a display of donkeys with gear at 11.
