The concept car version of the Alfa Romeo Tonale was unveiled at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. The C-segment SUV will replace the Giulietta in the Alfa Romeo range as a new entry level in the range of the historic Milanese brand. This at least until the arrival of the future B-SUV which in any case shouldn’t debut before 2023. The question everyone is asking at this point is when will we know the production version of Alfa Romeo Tonale.
It was initially thought that the Geneva Auto Show 2020 it could have been the right time but as we know the event was canceled due to the coronavirus and anyway it wasn’t even so sure Alfa Romeo Tonale in final version it was ready. Someone in recent months had speculated that the new model could be unveiled in the fall. At the moment, however, there are no official confirmations.
It cannot be ruled out that the debut of Tonale may take place in the first half of 2021 as production of the model will still begin in the second half of next year. As for the aesthetic differences with the concept car they should be minimal. Probably the prototype will be made less futuristic with some more traditional elements instead of those seen in Geneva. But as they have already said Alfa Romeo executives the differences will be very minimal. Alfa Romeo Tonale is considered an important model for the Biscione that in Europe when the SUV is finally launched could really increase the registrations of the Milanese company by a lot.
