The Alfa Romeo range is modest and consists of only three models, two of which, accounting for almost 90 percent of European sales, are SUVs – the compact Tonale and the much older and less popular mid-range Stelvio. Now they are joined by another car that should, at least in theory, become the pillar of the offer.
Milano, as this is the name of the new model, is an urban crossover, i.e. a car from an extremely popular segment. An advantage from the very beginning may also be the fact that Milano, as a premium brand product, will not have many rivals (these include Lexus LBX, Audi Q2, DS 3, and Mini Aceman will soon join this group).
Well-known solutions, unique appearance
Alfa Romeo Milano was built using components that had already been used, among others, to the new generation of Stellantis urban crossovers, i.e. the Jeep Avenger and Fiat 600. Fortunately, each of them, and this absolutely also applies to Alfa, is distinguished by its unique style, which allows you to clearly distinguish one model from another (and, by the way, from its competitors).
However, it is not surprising that in terms of size the differences are negligible. And yes Alfa Romeo Milano is 4.17 m long, 1.78 m wide, 1.5 m high, i.e. a size typical for cars from this segment. It turns out that there are disputes a trunk that can hold 400 liters, and in the electric version, there is an additional compartment under the hood, intended primarily for storing charging cables.
In the cabin, although elements common to Jeep and Fiat are used (including the air conditioning panel) there are interesting styling solutions, e.g. air vents referring to the symbol of a four-leaf clover (quadrifoglio) or digital indicators enclosed in a housing with a classic Alfa shape. In general, the cockpit makes a very good impression and does not resemble those of its corporate “brothers”. Multimedia system with 10.25-inch screen it will download remote updates, and the voice assistant has ChataGPT support.
The equipment will include, among others: a rear wide-angle camera (180 degrees), 360-degree parking sensors or a system for opening and closing the car that does not require using a remote control or buttons on the door handles (just move closer or further away from the vehicle). The My Alfa Connect application may also be helpful, enabling, among others: remote door locking control.
Not only in the electric version
It’s a very good thing that happened Alfa Romeo does not intend to sell the Milano only in an electric version, because if it was decided otherwise, it would unnecessarily significantly reduce the group of potential buyers. So Milano will also appear with 1.2 R3 turbo engine using a 48-volt micro-hybrid installation (the 29-horsepower electric motor is housed in a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox). It is available in the MHEV variant 136 KM. It is important that the Milano with this unit will be offered first with front-wheel drive, but later also as Q4, i.e. with a 4×4 system.
The range will also include: two electric variants – with engines of 156 HP and 240 HP. The latter will be used in the top, sporty Milano Veloce. It received not only styling distinctions, but above all modified running gear, with a suspension lowered by 25 mm, stronger brakes, different stabilizers, and huge 20-inch rims with 225/40 tires. Its equipment will also include: Lockable Torsen differential. Both versions of the Milano have electric ones traction battery with a capacity of 54 kWh (utility 51 kWh), which can be charged with a power of 11 kW (AC) or 100 kW (DC). The range of the 156-horsepower Milano is to be: 410 km in the mixed cycle and 590 km in city traffic.
The Milano range is to be configured in such a way that it is not difficult to choose the right car for yourself – there are basically three engine versions (and an additional 4×4 Q4 variant), with only the most powerful one distinguished as a separate equipment version.
To facilitate individualization and the selection of appropriate accessories, it is possible to equip the car with three packages with different specifications: Techno, Premium and Sport. At first, Milano will also be available in the so-called premiere version of Speciale (as announced during the car’s premiere, it will be available to order in a few weeks).
Production of the Milano will take place at the Polish factory in Tychy, next to the Jeep Avenger and Fiat 600. The Milano is generally expected to go on sale in the second half of the year and probably closer to the market debut we will know all the prices and exact specifications (also technical ones, because performance, among others, has not been revealed yet). For now, it has only been announced that the price list will start with PLN 30,000. euro, i.e. at the current exchange rate (EUR 1 = PLN 4.26) it is approx. 128 thousand. zloty.
The Milano has sharper, more expressive styling than the Fiat 600 or Jeep Avenger. Alfa Romeo Auto may have matrix LED headlights. Alfa Romeo Alfa romeo Milano is 417 cm long. Alfa Romeo Veloce variant received as standard 20-inch rims. Alfa Romeo The rear light system is one of the most characteristic elements in the appearance of the Italian crossover. Alfa Romeo Both the indicators and the central screen have a diagonal of 10.25 inches. Alfa Romeo Sports seats in Veloce are a product of the well-known Sabelt company. Alfa Romeo Air vents may seem like an ordinary thing, but they can be a very strong stylistic accent in the cabin. Alfa Romeo Digital gauges resemble those known from other, more analog Alfa models. Alfa Romeo Roomy, 400-litre trunk. Alfa Romeo Under the hood – cable compartment. Alfa Romeo With 18-inch rims and a grill different from the Veloce Milano, it looks equally attractive. Alfa Romeo
